Camping Barétous-Pyrénées is a small campsite in the southern French town of Aramits, at the foot of the Pyrenees. On a green camping ground you camp on delimited touring pitches, situated under trees and next to a river. Walkers and cyclists will be in their element: the friendly owners know the area like the back of their hand and organise excursions and cycling tours through the valley of Barétous and over the cols of the Pyrenees.

Colourful campsite

A variety of different species of trees provide shade on the campsite; flowering shrubs give colour to the terrain the elongated campsite is quite spacious and offers almost forty pitches and over twenty rental accommodations. The bungalows are situated between the tall trees at the back of the campsite, overlooking the river and the woods in the background. Between the touring pitches, delimitated by hedges and on beautifully tended lawns, there are rental tents.

Heated outdoor pool

You will find the outdoor swimming pool next to the reception building. A nice place to swim: high trees provide shade to a large part of the pool and the surrounding sun loungers. The smallest swimmers can safely bathe in the fenced off paddling pool. Like to sweat? Then step into the sauna and relax even more in the whirlpool.

Pleasant pavement café

Getting out of the pool, you can dry up on the pleasant adjoining pavement café. The restaurant is open from June to September. Here you can enjoy a takeaway meal, snacks and a drink. You can also it out In the village. Besides a pizzeria and restaurant there is also a supermarket.

Fantastic site, lovely owners. Their English was as poor as my French but we communicated very well. Food and drink in snack bar was superb and well priced. Large, flat pitches. would definitely use again.

Liked - A great base for an amazing area. Very calm and relaxed site. It is well maintained and very clean. Great for kids, with table tennis, pentanque, swimming pool, and a football in a net game. The bar serves a simple menu.
Disliked - There are rules that kids are in bed by 10pm (not a bad thing) but also no noise at all after 11pm. I didn't mind these but I think people should know before arriving.

Liked - Kamperen in een safaritent is geweldig. De luxe van een huisje en toch ben je de hele dag buiten.
Disliked - Het tweepersoonsbed is wat krap en behalve een plek voor de auto is er rondom de tent geen eigen ruimte meer.
