Camping Les Maritimes is in the French Landes department, only two kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean. You stay in a green, natural environment, which makes it an ideal home base for hikers and cyclists. The campsite has a swimming pool, surf bar and restaurant that serves sumptuous meals. If you would rather cook yourself, the campsite has a Casino supermarket for all your purchases.

Camping in a pine forest

Camping Les Maritimes has both pitches and accommodations. The site has lots of pine trees and consists for the most part of sandy ground. All pitches are spacious, shady and some pitches even have private toilet facilities. You can also stay in a mobile home, chalet or safari tent. These differ in degrees of luxury. There are basic accommodations without separate bedrooms and very luxurious chalets with their own Jacuzzi.

Book a surf lesson

You can cycle to the Atlantic Ocean (2 km), following the bicycle path from the campsite. If you would rather stay at the campsite to swim, there is a swimming pool complex with several swimming pools and a separate section for children. Part of the swimming pool is covered, which means you can swim on rainy days as well. The surf bar next to the swimming pool serves refreshing drinks and takes bookings for surf lessons. If you have no experience, that is not a problem. There are lessons for beginners as well.

Visit Bayonne or cross the Spanish border

The French-Basque city of Bayonne (35 km) is a good destination for a day out. Wander through the narrow streets of the old city centre, admire the impressive cathedral and enjoy the ambiance of the lively markets.
