Would you like to celebrate holidays in the attractive French Dordogne, while the children are looking for a campsite with a large swimming pool with slides? Then your choice may well fall on Sandaya Le Grand Dague campsite, close to Périgueux in the south west of France. This campsite is part of a large holiday park, so there is always something to do, especially during the summer holidays.

Le Grand Dague is situated near Périgueux, in the heart of the Dordogne. The route to the campsite from the motorway leads over a narrow road through a wooded area. With a caravan or motorhome, that last bit requires some careful driving. The park consists largely of mobile homes and rental tents. For campers with their own tent, caravan, motorhome or trailer tent, there is a camping field with some 55 spacious pitches.

Ideal for young families

Le Grand Dague is especially a magnet for families with children of primary school age. The staff is fully geared to this group. For example, in the summer holidays, the swimming pool is carefully supervised. It is very safe. In the summer holidays, there is a good chance that your neighbours are Dutch. That makes it easy to make new friends.

Beautiful water park

The main attraction of Le Grand Dague is the extensive water park with four swimming pools, a wild river and slides. The little ones can play and splash about in the paddling pool with pirate ship, while the older children can let themselves be carried along on the current of the wild water course.

Sanitair is 1 deel verouderde en het nieuwe stuk heeft tijdens ons verblijf niet normaal gefunctioneerd. Warm water was iedere dag een probleem.
Stroom viel in 1 week tot wel 10x per dag uit. Personeel scheurt met golfkarretjes over de camping. Animatje pas vanaf 5 jaar. Zwembad is leuk maar ook onveilig (scherpe roosters en rare doppen op het looppad waar je over struikelde. Campingplaatsen zijn zo scheef dat je de caravan of tent niet fatsoenlijk kunt neerzetten. Wij hadden aan 1 kant minstens 15 cm hout nodig om enigszins waterpas te kunnen staan. Als je deze campinq overweegt zou ik zeggen “kijk even verder”.
