Kite surfers, fishers and nature lovers take note! If you would like to explore the open coast of West Jutland in Denmark from a well-equipped campsite, then Thorsminde camping, about 40 kilometres north of Ringkøbing, is an ideal destination. When you arrive, do not be surprised if you see large kites flying above the campsite. Beginner and experienced kitesurfers have the time of their lives on the water of Nissum Fjord. There are facilities for everyone here. From a kitesurf school to a creativity corner, from a barbecue area to a dog training field.

Open camping site close to the water

Thormsminde Camping is on a headland with the North Sea on one side and Nissum Fjord on the other. There is one main road through the campsite with pitches on both sides. You stay on a fairly open site where tall vegetation is scarce. The campsite has camping pitches close to and a little further from the fjord. There are also special motorhome pitches and several huts, including a small cabin without toilet facilities and larger huts for families.

Pool and children’s activities

At the campsite entrance is a heated indoor pool with a slide and a sauna. Wonderful for a somewhat cooler day. For the young campsite guests there are many fun places to meet up: the playground with trampolines, recreational areas with games and, of course, the kitesurfing school.

Water sports Valhalla

Nissum Fjord is a favourite location for water sports enthusiasts. The water is usually not that rough, is shallow and has no rocks, allowing you to safely sail, standup paddleboard and canoe. And, of course, kitesurfing – a hobby that lures many campsite visitors to this place!
