As its name suggests, Camp Zagreb is an excellent base for people visiting Zagreb. It is an ideal transit campsite, but it is also highly suitable for longer stays. The campsite is located on a recreational lake in the village of Rakitje, directly to the west of the Croatian capital. The site is conveniently arranged in the shape of a roundabout, and has pitches for every type of camper.

Simple or luxury accommodation

The campsite accommodates every kind of camper, whether you come with a tent or a motor home. And if you prefer to rent accommodation, there are plenty of choices at Camp Zagreb. From teepees and glamping tents to luxury eco-cottages that feature television, air conditioning and wifi. There is even a special wellness suite with Finnish sauna, waterbed, jacuzzi and private terrace.

Various cycling routes

Most of the guests who visit here are in transit, wanting to visit Zagreb. That said, there are plenty of reasons to stay longer. It is therefore an excellent base for a wide range of bicycle routes. The lakeside trail is unchallenging and doable for most campers. Cyclists looking for more of a challenge can keep going all the way to the Samobor Mountains, an impressive natural park.

Horseback rides

Horse lovers take note! Novice riders can join an organised tour around the lake. Advanced riders can go all the way to Zagreb on horseback, if they wish. If you find all this a bit scary and want to get to know the noble animals first, then you are welcome to pet and cuddle them!

Travelling party: Seniors

They opened up a field next door for extra caravans. Staff and other customers then kept walking through our pitch (rather than round) because it was the shortest way to the toilet. There were only 3 ladies loos which meant a queue on occasions: There were 3 men’s loos plus 3 men’s urinals! Food in the restaurant was fine.
No shop or bread onsite. Nearest supermarket less than 1/2 a mile.
Train station to Zagreb about 30 mins walk but there is a free car parking at the station.

Mooie camping, vriendelijke ontvangst. Goede service heerlijk restaurant. Prima voor bezoeken van Zagreb, je wordt gratis naar het trein station gebracht.
