What’s the best way to sell your caravan?

Are you ready to sell your caravan, but not sure about what that involves and how to go about it? We have a few tips you can use when selling your caravan, whether you do so individually or through a caravan company.

Before you put your caravan up for sale, it’s a good idea to follow a number of steps to make sure your caravan looks as good as new, so that people who see it will get a good first impression.

1. Tidy is best: Make sure that you’ve cleaned everything, and that you’ve removed all your personal belongings. This will make your caravan look like new.
2. Technical problems: If you want to sell your caravan for a good price, you’ll need to make sure that everything still works as it should. Can the levelling supports still be used easily? Do the lights work? Are the tyres in working order?

If you’ve got the time to sell your own caravan, and don’t mind putting some effort into doing so, you have a number of options. You could advertise your caravan, try to find a buyer among people you know, or put your caravan up for sale on a sales site like Ebay.co.uk  – if you choose this option, make sure to attach good photos of your caravan. Demand for used camping vehicles has grown in the last few years, so there’s a good chance you’ll find someone to buy your caravan quickly.

If you’ve found someone to buy your caravan, you can register your caravan at CRiS, but it is not obligatory.  When you sell your motorhome, you need to inform the DVLA using a V5C form.
