In West Flanders, near the seaside resort of Nieuwpoort, you can camp a mere 800 metres from the sea. The beach is just a ten-minute walk via an inviting dune path. Camping de Lombarde offers a cosy bar with terrace, fish pond and playground. And, in the summertime, children can enjoy craft hours and sports competitions here. Cycling enthusiasts can rent a bike from the campsite to explore the area via one of the many cycling routes. A major advantage of the campsite is its central location for exploring the rest of the Belgian coastline.

Camping near Westende

The quiet location of the car-free Camping de Lombarde is a big plus. The campsite, which lies adjacent to a fish pond, is beautifully situated amidst the trees and nearby seaside. Thanks to its proximity to the motorway — only five kilometres away, the campsite is easy locate just south of Westeinde. Managers Guy and Sigrid will welcome you warmly upon your arrival.

Plenty of choice

The grounds are well maintained, and the camping pitches are sufficiently spacious. Besides the caravan and motorhome pitches, there's a tent field for smaller tents. The spacious feeling is enhanced by the lack of hedges as borders. The campsite also has hikers' cabins, comfortable safari tents and holiday homes available. Camping de Lombarde has several well-maintained sanitary facilities.

Play tennis, cycle or go for a walk

There are many sporting activities at the campsite. Visit the tennis court, for example. You can play a game of pétanque or table tennis on the well-maintained courts. There's a beautiful playground in the middle of the campsite, where the little ones can enjoy themselves.

Travelling party: Seniors

Stayed en route for three nights on either end of a holiday in Netherlands. The camping field was quiet (off season) so we had plenty of room. They were unable to freeze ice blocks as shop was not open
The toilet block was clean with plenty of hot water, however the toilet block had no toilet paper or soap for hand washing. In 2024 when everyone should be aware of the importance of hand hygiene it is unacceptable that campsites have no soap in the toilet area. This seemed to be a common theme to other campsites along the Belgian coast.

it is a campsite that feels homely and welcoming. The people running the campsite are friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as good as possible. After staying for a while they will feel like part of the family and friends.
